Established in 1990, Innisfail Optical is built on a history of local area vision care since the 1930’s.
With attention to detail in all aspects of our service we aim to ensure that you and your vision requirements are always our focus. We provide professional eye health care and quality eye wear to suit your individual needs.
Innisfail Optical supports our local community by providing locally based, industry leading vision care and community involvement.
At Innisfail Optical we are passionate about eye health. We are continually investing in the latest technology, training and products to ensure we give the best care and service possible.
Lauren Jenkins is our owner and Optometrist, with more than 10 years experience working across Australia, she is dedicated to providing continuity of quality care with a local perspective. We provide 30min appointments to ensure your test is not rushed, and there is not only ample time to deliver a thorough vision and health check, but for Lauren to explain what she is testing for and answer any questions. Where necessary we also liaise closely with your GP or Ophthalmologist to ensure you receive the best possible care.
We carry an extensive range of eyewear for all ages, from budget, to designer, to the exceptionally durable. We also have a large sunglass selection and can supply safety certified eyewear. We are continually updating our frame selection so there’s always something new to see, but if you cannot find that perfect frame on our shelf we’ll help you find it! We have our supplier’s ranges loaded on our Ipads for you to browse and we are more than happy to get other options into the store for you to try obligation free, usually within a few days.
We only stock quality frames, from reputable suppliers with some of the best warranties in the industry. We offer lifetime adjustments and servicing of your frames (some consumables may incur a nominal fee).
We use a quality hard coat on all of our lenses to ensure durability. But we understand nothing is scratch proof that is why we offer a 12 month goodwill warranty on all of our lenses. If you manage to scratch the lens on a pair of glasses you bought from us within 12 months we will replace the affected lens at 50% off (plus any fitting costs) no questions asked.
Rodenstock ImpressionIST 3
At Innisfail Optical we are very excited to announce we have now partnered with Rodenstock and have an ImpressionIST 3 in store.
Optical lenses need to be fitted precisely for clearest vision. There is little point in having the best lenses on the market unless they are precisely fitted to your frame.
We can now utilise the latest in measurement technology to determine the precise centration of your lenses in your frame, as you wear it. The Rodenstock ImpressionIST 3 is a computerised measuring system which draws on German expertise in engineering. With its unique dual camera technology, the ImpressionIST 3 calculates the position of all points of your frame and your eye in 3D space. We are able to do this to an accuracy of 0.1mm (that’s about the width of a human hair!).
Every frame and every face is different. For the first time we are able to measure individual frame parameters as worn by you, not as they are on the shelf. Five main parameters are required in order to produce a highly customised lens:
- The distance from your pupil to the back of the lens (vertex distance)
- The angle the lens sits at in front of your eyes (pantoscopic tilt)
- The curvature of the frame (frame wrap angle)
- The height of your pupil in the frame as you wear it
- The horizontal centration of your pupil in the frame
Once these measurements are taken, Rodenstock incorporates them into the calculations in order to optimise the optical characteristics of your lens. The ImpressionIST uploads the data directly to the optical lab in Germany where your lenses are manufactured. With German precision, the lenses are digitally cut in a process known as freeform production.
The result. Precisely optimised lenses. Maximum viewing area for distance and near. Minimum distortion.
